Becoming a CODMINISTRY Member
Membership requires both discipleship and love (John 13:8). Church membership affiliates an individual believer with a specific church.
Church membership viewed biblically is an obligation of discipleship and love that derives from being united with Christ by grace through faith, and from the discipline that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed to the church, to preserve its orderliness, purity and peace.
For example, Paul teaches in the New testament that Christians are members of one another as well of Christ, and that this unity is visible and practical in the church. He likens the visible church to a physical body of which Christ is the head, to which believers are joined and held together by love.
... we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. - (Romans 12:5)
... speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. - (Ephesians 4:15, 16)
For the purpose of caring for and strengthening this body, and for the cooperative action of all of its members, the grace of Christ provides leaders:
... he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ. - (Ephesians 4:11) This discipline is not optional to the Christian life, but is enjoined by the command of the word of God: Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls. (Hebrews 13:17)

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BECOMING A CODMINISTRY MEMBER -
Developing life-long friends through a connection to our church family. Making and having friends that share the same beliefs and values will help us all navigate through our world.
2. Opportunities To Make A Difference
This one of the biggest benefits of our church membership, it is the collective resources that provides opportunities to help others and make a difference. Church Volunteering opportunities are available here at Center of Destiny Ministries and these opportunities provide the system and structure to serve and support the work of God. For example, we do community outreach and provide the structure for Volunteers to get involved in helping other people. These kinds of experiences reinforces our Christian call to love, help other people and positively impact our community.
Belonging to our church provides a level of accountability for our members. It is our believe that members that receive good biblical teachings will learn to make good decisions, and are held accountable by just showing up and being reminded of the core values. The world offers many distractions and contradictions to Christian beliefs so having a community of people to interact with who think the same way helps to reinforce and hold us accountable to biblical principles.
4. Sense Of Community
Our fast paced culture has many of us living in isolation so much that we often live in neighbourhoods and don’t even know the people down the street. Belonging to a church body provides interactions with other people and creates a social community.
5. Personal Development
As Christians we are all on a journey of personal, spiritual and ethical development. Whether we are new Christians or have been a Christian for a long time, our church can offer church leadership, discipleship and spiritual development and growth.
6. Social Events
One of the many benefits of being part of a church body is the availability of social events and interactions with others. Whether it is participating in a bible-study, a baby dedication and thanks giving celebrations – the opportunities are there to participate in church events with friends and other church members.
I challenge you to step up, get involved & watch your life get transformed!
RESPONSIBILITY OF A MEMBER
Every new member is asked to make a covenant of time, talent, passion and treasure. Taking part in the church by volunteering your time means that you are part of this community.
Making a financial pledge, of an amount that fits your financial circumstances, means that the church is able to maintain the facilities, hire the staff, and create the programs that make a difference in the lives of the members of the church and the larger community. Attending meetings, informing oneself about the issues before the church, and voting according to one’s conscience and for the greater good of the community making the commission of Gods work stronger and achievable.
